At Forest Hills Charitable Investments, our commitment to positive change extends beyond traditional approaches. We believe that true impact is achieved not only through financial growth but also through sharing knowledge and empowering others. That's why we've embraced a unique strategy that combines hands-on investing with a team of dedicated student researchers and aspiring investors.
We recognize the importance of equipping the public with the tools they need for a successful future. Our organization pairs student investors with experienced investors and professionals, providing a platform for experiential learning in the world of finance. This approach gives students real-world insights that are incredibly valuable as they chart their own paths toward financial success. Furthurmore, to maximize the potential for the growth of our students, we have divided our crew into four separate investing groups. This allows our students to dive deep into the content of their investing groups, building their expertise in that field, and helping our group diversify our portfolio while making educated investments.
Investment Teams
Growth
Investing in growth stocks is for the sole purpose of generating more returns. There is no “impactful” reasoning behind it. It uses a more technical approach to stocks compared to any other type of stock, looking to the PE ratio, the PEG ratio, and other numbers.
Dividend
A Dividend stock refers to a publicly traded company's stock that regularly distributes a portion of its earnings, usually in the form of cash, to its shareholders. Investing in this type of stock allows us to receive guaranteed money from the company while simultaneously looking to see if the stock itself grows.
Value
Value investing is an investment strategy that involves picking stocks that appear to be trading for less than their intrinsic or book value. Value investors believe the market overreacts to good and bad news, resulting in stock price movements that do not correspond to a company's long-term fundamentals. The overreaction offers an opportunity to profit by buying stocks at discounted prices—on sale.
Impact
Impact investments are investments made to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below market to market rate, depending on investors' strategic goals.
Donation
What sets us apart is our commitment to amplifying the impact of your generosity. As our investments flourish, so does our ability to make meaningful contributions to other nonprofits that align with our mission. We identify organizations that are actively working toward positive change in areas such as education, healthcare, social justice, and environmental conservation. Currently, this non-profit is Feeding America West Michigan. Through your financial support, we empower these nonprofits to expand their reach and magnify their impact on our community.
